I have missed West Dean so much… I can’t tell you how excited I am to get back to my teaching studio up the stairs above the craft shop. There will be only 8 students instead of the usual 12 so we can stay away from each other, but there will be some painting and some laughing and heaps of concentrating and a huge fix of West Dean-ness. And beautiful roses at the end of the day, before we all go home exhausted but ever so content.
The courses are starting again on the 1st of August, although for the moment they are only 1 day courses. I am taking the first shift, teaching “Painting a rose” on Saturday the 1st, testing the new system, enjoying the company of like-minded people and seeing again my West Dean friends. It is going to be so hard not to hug anyone! My next residential is planned for October. I will add the dates to my course page after I post this. The best description of West Dean for me would be in the simple words of Phil Coulson : “It’s a magical place”

In other news, I have started shooting a new video, which I will upload next week. A tutorial for my YouTube channel and the paint-along version for my Patreon subscribers.
In the meanwhile, have a great week-end everyone! For me it starts this evening, with a swim in the sea and a picnic on the beach 🙂
Great news Sandrine for you. I am still waiting to hear aboutGurnard on the Isle of Wight. I think it will start again next year.

That’s a shame… I was hoping we’d be able to squeeze in the October one and see each other once before the end of the year 🙂
